Welcome to the Facilities Master Plan webpage.  I am pleased to be able to share this important information with our stakeholders.  As members of the Ouray community, we all share a collective assumption and expectation that our schools and facilities provide safe, conducive environments for learning, growth, and community engagement.

On behalf of students and staff, I would like to thank the voters of Ouray School District for their past support. The bonds that built and modified the gym building in 1965 and 1996 as well as the main building renovation bond in 2014 have made Ouray School what it is today. We’ve been good stewards of the investments, and we look forward to this facility master plan starting the conversation about the school’s current needs and the best ways to move forward for the next generations of Ouray students.

Over the years, our school has served as a mainstay of our community, educating countless students while fostering a sense of community and belongingness. However, like any infrastructure, it requires regular maintenance and updates to continue serving us effectively.  With the results of the comprehensive Facilities Master Plan, we are able to reveal deferred maintenance items that may have not been uncovered without this extensive inspection.

This comprehensive Facilities Master Plan is crucial in guiding our efforts to prioritize and address these needs effectively. By identifying areas for improvement and strategically allocating resources, we can ensure that our facility remains safe, functional, inviting, and conducive to learning for generations to come. Furthermore, addressing deferred maintenance is not just a matter of convenience; it's a matter of safety and equity. Every student deserves to learn in an environment that is free from hazards and conducive to reaching their greatest potential.
