San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center Oncology & Infusion

Alamosa, CO

Why

Connecting through experience of place.

The San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center (SLVRMC) has been serving communities around the San Luis Valley for more than 90 years. To accommodate the growing needs of patients, SLVRMC retained RTA to design a new 1,600 SF Oncology and Infusion Center addition and 2,550 SF of interior tenant improvement to the existing infusion program area. The addition and renovation provides expanded patient-centered services that enhances the patient experience and enables the SLVRMC Oncology Program to better serve the community.

How

Ever curious. Ever learning. Ever improving.

Following the June groundbreaking, General Contractor GH Phipps mobilized on site. Utilizing an accelerated construction schedule, GH Phipps achieved substantial project completion and turned the project over to the hospital at the end of 2017.

What

Purposeful, engaging solutions.

This $2.2 million dollar project includes new finishes, increased daylighting, enhanced patient support, additional examination rooms, shared education and conference spaces, and new landscaping. Site work includes the redefinition of the north entry point to the hospital campus from First Street to improve site circulation, and provides better accessibility. Adjacent to the new Oncology & Infusion Addition, the existing main Emergency Department entry received a newly designed covered entry canopy and signage structure to help redefine and visually reinforce Emergency Department access and campus wayfinding.
