Douglass Valley PK-8 School
Academy School District 20 was invited to participate in the Public Schools on Military Institutions (PMSI) program, which allows schools on military installations, such as the existing Douglass Valley Elementary School, to receive funding for renovations or rebuilding schools. ASD20 submitted a successful proposal to replace the ageing K-5 Douglass Valley Elementary School with a new PK-8 school to be located on the same site, providing parents with an opportunity to remain on base for the PK - 12 grade experience.

Staff collaboration areas will be strategically located and appropriately sized.
The team worked in close collaboration with the District through a Design Advisory Group process, user group meetings, workshops, and a community open house. The RTA team and the Design Advisory Group also toured several Colorado schools to understand preferences for building organization, space adaptability, interior environments, classroom settings, and staff collaboration spaces.
