Reflecting on Sustainable Design for Earth Day
April 22, 2026
Today is Earth Day, and we’re reflecting on the role architecture plays in caring for our planet. RTA is committed to designing spaces that respect our environment, support long-term resilience, and serve communities. From thoughtful material choices to energy-conscious and renewable systems, sustainability is integrated into how we approach design, helping create healthier places for people today and for generations to come.
RTA has been proud to work on such projects as:
- The Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center, which is pursuing the Living Building Challenge
- Pueblo Community Health Center's East Side Clinic, which is the first verified Zero Energy outpatient clinic in North America, according to the New Buildings Institute (NBI)
- And the U.S. Air Force Academy Foundation & Association Wecker Hall, which is pursuing Zero Energy
